SOUND PROJECT
The Sound Project is an initiative aimed at supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Leicester through the power of music. Running from September 2024 to September 2025, this weekly programme provides participants with the opportunity to develop their musical and singing skills in a supportive and creative environment.
Participants will learn to play a variety of musical instruments including guitars, keyboards, drums, traditional drums and kit drums, while enhancing their singing abilities with guidance from experienced artists and tutors. Through music, participants will have the chance to share their personal experiences and cultural heritage, building confidence and self-esteem along the way.
Performance and showcase events throughout the year will provide opportunities for participants to display their newfound skills and creative expression.
Sessions will include teaching:
Guitars I Keyboards I Drums I Traditional and Kit drums I Creative Singing Skills
Saturdays
12pm – 4pm Drums
12pm – 2pm Keyboards/ Music Theory
Sundays
5pm – 7pm Keyboards/ Music Theory
At Stayfree Music 2-4 Frog Island
The project will commence on 7th September 2024 and run until September 2025.
